Ⅰ. Overview

 

When you want the first and last cuts in the nesting results to be straight cuts, you can use this function to improve tube utilization and reduce toolpaths.

 

Ⅱ. Application Scenarios

 

1. When the tube end is relatively smooth and does not require trimming, front-end straight cut can be used to skip processing the tube front end and reduce toolpaths.

2. When there is an unprocessable area at the tube end, aligning the last part directly with the tube end without performing a cut allows the remnant to be utilized, improving material utilization.

3. Loop Nesting often produces nesting results with 100% utilization. Cutting at the tube edge may cause a risk of the laser cutting head colliding with the tube. If both ends are straight cuts, the entire end-to-end toolpath can be skipped to avoid such collisions.

 

Ⅲ. How to Use

 

In the Auto Nest interface, check Straight cut position. Three strategies are available: Front-end firstRear-end First, and Fill in both ends.

 

 

Notice:

      • After Straight cut position is enabled, the software prioritizes placing straight-cut ends in the nesting results according to the selected strategy. However, if doing so affects tube utilization, the software does not guarantee that a straight-cut end will be placed.
      • When Nest in Tail and a front-end or rear-end straight cut strategy are enabled at the same time, the Nest in Tail condition takes priority.
