The .yxy file is TubesT's project file, containing imported parts, modifications to the geometry, nesting results, and other information.
Starting with version 7.1.51, automatic backup functionality has been optimized. If the 【Auto Backup】 option is enabled, backup files will be created automatically during normal software operation or when encountering special circumstances.
1. Click 【User Settings】 → 【Usage Preferences】, then check 【Auto Backup】.
2. Configure the <Time Interval> and <File Recovery Location> for automatic backups as needed.
<Time Interval>: Files will be backed up once every xx minutes after operating within the software. The configurable parameter range is 2 to 60 minutes.
<Backup file location>: In the event of an abnormal software exit, recovered files will be located at this address.
1. Under normal software usage
If an automatic backup interval is configured in user settings, files will be backed up periodically to the backup directory: D:\FsData\Tubest\Backup. If no files exist in the backup directory, it indicates previous operations did not meet backup criteria.
Important Notes:
① Backups only initiate after software operations are performed.
② The backup directory retains only the most recent 7 days of operation files. Additionally, if memory usage exceeds 500MB, older backup files will be deleted starting from the oldest.
③ The backup directory is hidden. To locate it, enable <Hidden items> in File Explorer or paste the directory path directly into the address bar for search.
The methods for locating backup files are shown in the animated image:
Method 1: In File Explorer on your computer, check the box for <Hidden items>.
Method 2: Paste the directory into the address bar to search.
2. When the software is forcefully/abnormally closed
In case of unexpected shutdowns such as power loss, forced software closure, or computer crashes, files requiring recovery will be saved to the designated recovery directory: D:\FsData\Tubest upon reopening the software. If no files exist in the recovery directory, it indicates the previous operation did not meet recovery conditions.
Important Notes:
① Files will only be automatically added to the recovery directory when the software exits abnormally.
② The default file recovery directory in User Parameters Configuration is D:\FsData\Tubest. If you modify the recovery path, all subsequent recovered files will be saved to the new location.
When the software reopens after an abnormal exit, it will prompt whether to recover files—a pop-up appears on the welcome screen: “Abnormal software exit detected. Restore backup files?” Click “OK” to restore the backup files.
Note: When reopening the software, if there are numerous files to recover, you may first select and open one file, then locate and open additional files from the recovery directory.
