TubesT - Add Text

I. Introduction

TubesT supports manually creating text.

The text can be cut as hollow letters for decorative purposes, or marked on the part as product identification or part differentiation.

II. How to Use

1. Function Location

① Starting from TubesT 7.1.35, Add Text is located under the drop-down menu of Curve Tools.

② In versions prior to TubesT 7.1.35, Add Text is located under the Optimize drop-down menu.

2. Notice

After manually adding text, be sure to click Sort to make sure that marking is processed before the cutoff line!

3. Operating Steps

Tips:

① Before placing the text on the part, a white preview frame will appear. When the preview frame is visible, press A or D on the keyboard to rotate the entire text slightly for fine angle adjustment; press S or W to rotate the entire text by 90°.

② If you need to cut hollow characters, consider whether bridging is required.

If so, refer to TubesT-Bridge.

III. Parameter Descriptions

Parameter

Description Example

Font

Various fonts are available. The black area shows a preview.

• For aesthetic purposes, select a regular (hollow) font.

• To reduce processing time, select a single-line font.

Notice: Fonts with the suffix “.shx” are single-line fonts.

Text

Enter the text content to be added.

Height

Defines the size of the marking text. The value should be set based on the tube diameter — the larger the value, the larger the text.

Notice: Tests show that a height between 8–12 mm is sufficient for clear visibility and part differentiation.

Marking

When unchecked, the text will be generated as a cutting toolpath.

When checked, the text will be generated as a marking toolpath.

Rotate 90°

When unchecked, the text is aligned along the Y-axis.

When checked, the text is aligned along the X-axis.

Explode Text

If bridges need to be added to the text, enable this option.

Notice: For marking text, it is recommended not to enable this option.

IV. FAQs

1. Can text be added to multiple parts at once?

Yes. If you need to add text to multiple parts simultaneously, refer to the tutorials TubesT - Auto Add Text or TubesT - Batch Add Text.

2. How to configure marking in the cutting software?

In TubesT, marking toolpaths are organized in a separate layer.

In TubePro, you can configure a dedicated technique for the marking layer.

For example, if the marking toolpath is assigned to Layer 2 (Blue), you need to configure Layer 2 in TubePro for marking parameters.

If you are unfamiliar with parameter tuning, refer to the following suggestions: increase Cutting speed and Nozzle height; lower Peak power and Duty cycle.
