Divide Function

Background

When certain lines in the drawing are too long, leading to non-closed graphics, you can use Divide function to solve the problem.

Operation and Precautions

1. Function Location

- Drawing Processing interface: Click [Import Parts from Drawings (recommended) ] button in the nesting interface to enter.

- CypDraw interface: Click [Draw Parts]  in the nesting interface to enter.

- Part Editing Interface: Right-click on the part in the part list of the nesting interface and click [Edit This Part].

2. Operation

Move the mouse to the part that needs dividing; the line will appear in yellow highlight, then left-click the mouse to complete divide. For these two intersecting lines, the selected part is the segment from the mouse position to the intersection point. As shown in the figure below.

3. Precautions

Divide can only be applied to drawings, not to parts. After importing the drawing, CypNest will automatically recognize the legal graphics in the drawing as parts. To use Divide function, you need to first cancel the part.

The method to convert parts into drawings is as follows:

Method 1: Select the part, right-click -break parts to drawing.

Method 2: Select the part and click Cancel part.

Note: The Divide function in the Part Editing and CypDraw interfaces is mainly used for some simple modification, after dividing, clicking confirm will undergo part detection, only legal part can be imported.
