Advancing Intelligent Ship Manufacturing

BOCHU’s Hull Intelligent Manufacturing System integrates and coordinates multiple critical stages of ship production through digital technology.

The solution connects key processes such as design, production scheduling, preprocessing, marking, cutting, intelligent sorting, additional beveling, grinding & chamfering, and non-teaching welding of small assemblies. It enables a seamless smart manufacturing flow encompassing nesting, spray marking, cutting, and welding, allowing shipyards to achieve more efficient and collaborative production.

The AiP confirms that the system design complies with relevant technical standards and demonstrates potential for engineering implementation and scalable application.

Academician Lin Zhongqin of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University attended the event and delivered a speech.

Supporting the Digital Transformation of Shipbuilding

As the shipbuilding industry transitions from traditional manufacturing to intelligent automation, digitalization and systematic coordination of production workflows are becoming increasingly vital.

BOCHU’s solution provides shipyards with a new technological pathway to connect production processes and enhance efficiency, offering a practical blueprint for the industry’s shift toward more digital and intelligent manufacturing models.

Mr. Zhu Jian, Director of the Shanghai Rules & Research Institute at China Classification Society, addressed the audience.

Looking ahead, BOCHU will continue to deepen cooperation with CCS and industry chain partners to accelerate the engineering application and industrial advancement of hull intelligent manufacturing technologies.
