CloudNest - Import T2F File

Function Description

CloudNest allows importing *.t2f files exported by CypWizard and automatically add bevels to parts. Click here to know how to download CypWizard.

Import to CloudNest

1.Open CloudNest,  select Import Tekla plug-in Part (.t2f) in the Add Parts drop-down menu.

2.Enter the Bevel Nesting Plug-in interface and click the Import T2F File button.

Supported part types for import are as follows:

    • Standard flat parts: Rectangular inner baffle, Rectangular stiffener, Circular inner baffle, Ring shaped round plate.

    • Tube part (auto unfold after import):

      • I-beam: Split into one web and two flanges

      • Box-beam: Split into two webs and two flanges

Note: Auto add bevel is available for the above flat parts and tube parts. For other flat parts (such as triangular steel, trapezoidal steel, etc.),  you can disable Auto add bevel and manually set bevels after import.

    • Inner circle bevel: The inner circle profile can optionally be converted to a non-bevel or non Cut graphic.

    • Auto add bevel: When checked, bevels are automatically added to imported parts. If there are issues adding bevels to all parts, you can use this function to check if the splitting results are normal and if there are any problems with the drawings.

    • Place part horizontally: When checked, parts are placed horizontally.

Set Bevel Rules

1.Click Set Bevel Rules at the bottom left to set parameters for automatically adding bevels to standard parts.

2.Select the part type that requires bevel settings (first layer).

3.Click Toolpath Settings to set bevel toolpaths for different edges of the part as needed.

    • Total toolpath segment: The total number of toolpath segments for one edge ( non-bevel + bevel)

    • Length:

      • Fixed length (mm):  Enter the actual length.

      • Percentage: The proportion of the fixed length to the total toolpath length. The sum of percentages for all segments must equal 100%.

    • Bevel type:

      • Non-beveled: This length segment uses non-bevel cut machining.

      • Full penetration: This length segment uses full penetration machining (set root gap for bevel).

      • Half penetration: This length segment uses half penetration machining.

4.Click Bevel Settings to set bevel parameters for different thicknesses as needed.

    • Add Thickness: Enter the thickness value and add it to the table below.

    • Mark: Click the icon to set bevel parameters for this thickness. Set Full penetration and Half penetration bevel parameters as needed.

      • Full penetration supports setting Bevel root gap.

      • Half penetration does not support setting Bevel root gap.

Note: For the same thickness value, one set of  Full penetration and one set of  Half penetration parameters can be set.

5.After completing the above parameter settings, click OK.

Import Parts

1.Click the icon of the part type (e.g., Rectangular inner baffle) to import parts.

2.Click the rectangular inner baffle file and click Open. If parameters for the part's thickness are configured in previous steps, the part can be imported normally.

Multiple files can be imported in batches, provided they are the same type of part. For example, multiple rectangular inner baffle files can be imported at once. The import status will be indicated in the log section below.

If any parts fail to import, the information will be automatically logged into a *.txt file in the folder containing the part files. Open it to view the reasons for import failure.

If the thickness value has not been configured, click Set Thickness to set it up  (the steps are the same as above). Click Skip to import the part directly without auto bevel settings.

3.After import, parts will be displayed in the left list (Note: It is essential to check the bevel status of the parts). Parts can be viewed in different classifications as needed (by source part, by thickness, by material).

4.Double-click/check the part, and click Plate Attributes to modify the part thickness.

5.Click OK in the top right corner to enter the Drawing Processing interface. Check part material, thickness, gas, and other information.

6.If you need to continue importing bevel parts, click Import Bevel  in the Import File drop-down menu on the left side of the interface.

7.Click OK to upload the bevel parts to CloudNest.
